Frequently Asked Questions

How do I view the Quicktime Movies? When I click on the movies all I see is a fast blurr of somtimes sideways pictures. You must first have installed Quicktime from Apple Computer's QuickTime website.
To do this, please visit www.quicktime.apple.com and select the install quicktime options.

How do I talk to a human about my problem? When I call IPI I frequently get an answering machine. As you might have already guessed, the CD does not generate enough revenue to support us yet, consequently we have other means of income which demand our time during some hours of the business day. This does not mean that you are not important to us. Please be patient. We check our e-mail and voice mail regularly during those times. Please leave your phone number and a brief description of your problem at (503)804-6368 and we will return your call ASAP.

How do I import the full size image into my presentation? When I "drag and drop" the thumbnail image from the site page onto my PowerPoint presentation slide, it shows up as a really small image and when I resize it, it is really pixelated and does not look good.
There are two possible problems here. Either you are trying to import an image from one of the "other forests" or trying to drag and drop from the site page. The first case can happen if you are trying to use an image which is not on the CD you are accessing. We included all 999 site pages on all CD's, however, the sites which are NOT in the group associated with the title of the CD (Washington, Eastern Oregon or Western Oregon) only have one or two of the images in a very small format, about 18dpi. To correct this you need to use the CD for the group the site is in. The other possibility is that the system you are using, (OS and Applications) prefers to transfer the minimum amount of data possable. You can work around this by clicking on the image to get the "full screen" version of the image and then dragging and dropping it onto your presentation slide.
